Video transcript

TV planning still lives in Excel spreadsheets. Planoryn puts the whole campaign in one place. Sign in. Everyone in the agency has a role. Set the TRP goal and the budget. Press Generate, and get three plans: Reach, Balanced and TRP Max. Approve the plan and send the finished order to the TV stations. Then move on to reconciliation. See where the campaign under-delivers, and where it over-delivers. Order compensation, cancel the surplus, or extend the campaign. From price list to final invoice. Planoryn.

The problem

TV planning today lives in spreadsheets.

The agency workflow runs on broadcaster Excel files — schedules, price lists and ratings history — that are inconsistent, color-coded and full of conventions: overnight airings written as "25:00", two price lists in one month, conditional program cells. Agencies manually cross-reference them against actual-airing files to see what really went on air, compute deficits and negotiate compensation. Planoryn automates every step of that chain — and keeps the money consistent from plan to invoice.

Agencies as tenants

Each agency is an isolated tenant with its own users, clients and data — nobody sees anyone else's.

The Croatian TV market

The rules that market actually uses — from per-channel daypart boundaries to overnight conventions.

Enterprise foundations

Roles, audit trail, separation of duties and data isolation — built in from day one.

The workflow

End to end, in ten steps.

  1. Import & transform

Upload raw broadcaster schedules and price lists. Channel-specific transformers read colors, breaks and date conditions; file-type auto-detection prevents wrong imports, and the parsed preview is editable before importing.

  2. Clients & commercial terms

A client registry with per-client price rules — CPP by channel and daypart, seasonality and program indexes — plus bonus conditions per channel group.

  3. Campaigns

A campaign per client with budget, TRP goal, flight dates and per-channel budget split. Campaign variants — a copy with new dates and budget — are supported too.

  4. Prediction (ratings)

Schedule slots are matched against ratings history to predict GRP/TRP per slot. Affinity (TRP/GRP) is always derived from real ratings data — never assumed.

  5. Planning

The heart of the app. An auto-select engine, calibrated against around 250 real media plans, builds a plan that hits the TRP goal within budget — with channel and daypart targets, weekly rhythm and three strategies: Reach, Balanced and TRP Max. Manual mode, calendar and list views, plan versions, bonus distribution, Excel import and export.

  6. Approval & ordering

Staged approval with separation of duties — the plan's creator cannot approve it. Approval generates buying lines and order Excels in each broadcaster's required format.

  7. Reconciliation

Import actual-airing files; the matcher pairs deliveries with planned spots despite renames, overnight conventions and slid blocks. Views: full plan, variance, calendar and actions — planned versus actual per channel group and daypart.

  8. Compensation

Deficits are computed per channel and daypart; the system suggests compensation airings, tracks TV-station responses, carries unresolved deficits forward across imports and labels aired compensation. Cancelling the surplus (storno) and carry-forwards are covered too.

  9. Billing & finalization

An accounting-style post-campaign summary — planned, delivered, deficit, compensation and final result, split paid/bonus per channel group. Final invoice and credit; finalization with a mandatory reason.

  10. Dashboard & reporting

KPI cards — active budget, TRP delivery, at-risk campaigns by pacing — campaign pacing tracking and a reconciliation overview across all campaigns.

Alongside: agency-isolated internal chat, user and permission management, and an audit trail of every change.

Roles & permissions

Five roles, a strict hierarchy.

Each role manages only roles strictly below it.

SA Super admin

Platform operator. Creates and manages agencies (tenants); the only role with platform tools.

A Admin

Heads one agency. Manages supervisors, account managers and planners; holds destructive rights (deletes).

S Supervisor

Oversight within the agency: approves plans, finalizes billing, reviews corrections and amendments.

AM Account manager

Commercial side: clients, conditions, pricing, campaign creation. Doesn't plan; read-only on reconciliation.

P Planner

Operations: campaign data (schedule, ratings), planning, reconciliation, compensation.

  • Fail-closed security — a user without an assigned role gets nothing.
  • Tenant isolation — agencies never see each other's data.
  • Object scoping — planners and account managers only see assigned clients and campaigns.
  • Separation of duties — whoever builds a plan cannot approve it (toggleable per agency).
  • Full audit trail — every change is logged; sensitive actions require a written reason.
Domain intelligence

Built on the real market, not abstractions.

TRP/GRP layer separation

Planning is done in TRP (target audience), buying and pricing in GRP (all viewers), and reconciliation compares both — exactly how the market works.

One cost formula

With per-client price rules — channel, daypart, season, duration, program:

GRP × CPP × seasonality index × duration index × program index

Channel-specific dayparts

Daypart boundaries differ per channel and always come from the source price list — never guessed from air time.

Overnight conventions

Both overnight notations are handled — "25:00" on the broadcast date and "01:00" on the calendar date — including cross-midnight matching.

Bonus spot economics

Free spots are evenly interleaved per the client's negotiated ratio; paid is shown and billed at full list price, bonus shown as value but billed at zero.

Multi-month campaigns

Estimates use seasonal indexes weighted by flight days — single-month campaigns stay untouched.
